Heathcliff just turned 2 years old, is neutered and is in short coat.  He is good with other dogs and has gone to Doggy Daycare in his prior home.  He is shy with strangers and can be timid when he first meets you but he will warm up quickly.  He needs a patient, understanding owner who will be able to provide guidance in new situations.  Prior Afghan Hound experience preferred.  Heathcliff is a tall boy, he is 36″ tall at the shoulder.  A 6′ fence is a must as this young boy wants room to play and run safely off leash.

If you are interested in Heathcliff,  please complete adoption application at www.neahr.org and submit via scan, fax or snail mail.

Looking for retirement home!  My name is Zuffa and I am 10 years old.  My owner died in mid-September and I have been living alone in our home until November 1st.  I like to ride in the car, I walk well on a leash and do not pull.  I come when called and know basic obedience commands (sit, down, come, stay).  I have excellent house manners and have adjusted easily to my foster home.  I am a quiet, respectful boy, you won’t have to worry about me barking. I much prefer the company of humans and would prefer to be the only dog in your life.   I have been raised as an only dog and would prefer to retire that way.  You can take me to the park where there are other dogs because I am not aggressive.  I will walk nicely on the leash for you.  I  prefer that dogs respect my space –  I’m polite so I expect that they will be as well.

If you are interested in me, please complete an adoption application at www.neahr.org and submit to my foster mom via scan, fax or snail mail.

Adopted: William and Nicholaus in New England

William and Nicholaus Have Been Adopted!

Name:  William and Nicholaus

Age:  8

M/F: Males

ColorBlack & Silver & Blue Brindle

Contact:  neahr@comcast.net

William and Nicholaus are 8 year old boys together since they were puppy’s. They recently lost their Mom and their Dad is losing his battle with Stage 4 Cancer. He recently made the very difficult decision to relinquish them to NEAHR. We will be honoring his wishes and will only be adopting them out as a pair. They have been cherished family pets who snuggled on the couch, slept in their parents bed and enjoyed home cooked chicken with their dinner every night. They love to go for rides in the car. They will easily make the transition into an experienced home.

Nicholaus is a Blue Brindle and slightly smaller than William. He tends to be a bit shy at first but warms up quickly – he loves to give you kisses. He is very sweet and silly and he is a talker, although not as much as William. He is getting along with the other dogs and cats in his foster home. He looks to William for guidance.

William is Black with a white chest. He takes the lead and looks out for his “brother” Nicholaus. He is a talkative, silly boy. He is good with the other dogs and cats in his foster home. They have also been good with the goats at the foster home, although I’m not sure that they know what they are.

The boys will be shaved down and vetted prior to adoption. Please complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website, www.neahr.org if you are interested in adopting them as a pair.  You can fax, scan or snail mail it to us. You may also contact us at neahr@comcast.net if you would like additional information.

The adoption fee has been adjusted so that it will be $450 for the pair.

Max is a 4-5 year old Black and Tan, he is in good health and will be up to date on his vaccinations. He is in Rescue due to his owners death. If not already neutered, he will be before placement. He is very shy but is a little silly. For example, if the doorbell rings he goes to the door, woofs once, then runs away.

His new home will require a fenced yard.
