CINTHIA

This is Cinthia.  She is a black and tan/black and silver girl, and is she a riot!  She is the funniest dog we have, next to Boogie.  She is actually very similar to Boogie in personality:  she does what she wants, tries to get away with things she knows she shouldn't,  and sells you on the whole deal with her sweet, happy face and her not-so-innocent "who, me?" expression.

Cinthia's coat should be fairly easy to take care of, even if you put her back in coat.  Her coat doesn't tangle easily nor does it pick up grass like a magnet the way some do.  Cinthia is not one of those long, leggy, stately, ethereal afghans.  She doesn't have quite enough leg for that 'square' look, her tail curls too much, her head is a bit wedge-shaped....and WHO CARES?  Not Cinthia!  She doesn't care squat about what the AKC says about structure...she wants belly rubs!!

Cinthia is just the opposite of Jayda.  She by-passed the 'aloof' part of the afghan standard and went straight to 'gay'.  She is very outgoing, always excited to see you, is always, always, always in a good mood, and can't wait to tell you about it.  Once her initial enthusiasm wanes, she is a quiet girl.  But don't let that give you cause to let your guard down...she is a bit of a sneaker:  she sneaks behind you to slip out the gate (don't worry, this is inside the kennel, she can't get out unless we've left two doors open...not), she tries to sneak Jayda's food (like Jayda's not going to notice?) from her bowl, and I swear I've seen her create diversionary tactics to throw off the other dogs so she can grab their cookies.  Note the common food theme here...  CINTHIA WILL BE A FAT PIG IF YOU LET HER!  You will have to watch what she eats so she doesn't become overweight.  I promise it could easily be an issue.

Cinthia gets along very well with the other dogs (she is kenneled with Peter and Jayda).  She likes the cats, but she hasn't been tested in an open yard with them. Even thought she seems fairly graceful when she jumps in the car, I don't think jumping fences is an issue with her.  Cinthia is not a 'barker', she is a 'talker', but quiet once she's filled you in on what you missed.

She LOVES car rides, and jumps in the car and lays down immediately in preparation for this treat.  She crates well.  Once she's done telling you how happy she is that you're going somewhere, she's good on a lead.  Even with her zest for life, however, you will have a hard time getting her off your couch!  She is a tidy dog who adheres to housebreaking rules.  And did I mention she loves belly rubs?

She has no health problems.  The only issue she had was her coat from her hipbones down to her hocks was very sparse due to a flea infestation.  Her coat has come back in twice (we shaved her down once it got to be an inch or so long), and is in good condition.

Basically, Cinthia is the life of the party... a social butterfly...a truly funny girl.  She is just a mess, and her endearing  personality will put her smack in the middle of your heart (as she has ours).

If you need a reference for her, Darcie summed it up some time ago when she said, "Mom, if I could take just one, I'd take Cinthia to the house for my bed buddy."

Just don't forget the belly rubs.
