Pasha wants to be your best buddy, but he wants to be your only buddy. Name: Evie

Evie is about 6 or 7 years old. She is shy but friendly when given time to acclimate to new people and dogs. She is being fostered with four Afghans and is fitting in with no problems. We don’t know how she would react to smaller dogs or cats. Evie has no interest in bunnies or birds.

Evie is a beta and doesn’t want to be the boss. She is house trained, crate trained, couch trained (loves the couches), and good on a leash.

Evie loves her walks and has finally gotten into eating well. She sleeps in a crate at night and feeds in one as well; she loves squeaky toys, furry squeaky toys.

She is fostered in Tucson, Arizona. She has been spayed and is up to date on shots.

Meka, a grande dame of 13 needs a forever home. She is hoping someone wants to love her and play with her in her senior years. Meka is fully vetted, UTD on all vaccinations, including bivalent flu. She’s housebroken and very quiet – barks only if she is displeased (another dog in HER crate, lol) and she sleeps most of the day away.
Meka goes all night (6-7 hours) with no extra potty breaks. She is a picky eater but is now eating good food (with cheese mixed in!). She is on maintenance arthritis pain meds and has some fatty tumors, but is in remarkably good health, according to the Vet.

Meka is a sprightly senior with some sass. She sleeps a lot as expected but can still move quickly when the urge strikes. She is good with other dogs, cats, men, and women. She is very sweet but hesitant and prefers the safety and privacy of a crate. She has shown herself to be housebroken and will bark at the back door if she needs an additional potty break.

She has recently found her voice and “tells” us when another dog is in her way or if she wants to go outside (beyond our routine schedule).
She can launch herself into the back of the car and rides well in the car.

Meka hopes that the New Year will bring her someone who will pet and love her, and give her the great home she deserves.

Marley, like his namesake Dickens’ character, has had a very difficult life.

He had a very neglectful owner and was found wandering down the side of the road. Marley had been injured but never taken to the vet. The Humane Society got him the medical treatment he needed, and he has been transferred to AHCA Rescue. Marley has a great foster now, but needs a permanent home and a great sofa for snoozing.

Name: Samson & Delilah

Samson and Delilah are a bonded pair of 6-year-old Afghans. Their family lost their home, and could not keep them.

The two have been together their whole lives, and need to stay together. They are sweet, loving dogs who want to be held and cuddled. They thrive on affection and attention. Samson and Delilah are good with adults and children, other dogs (both large and small), but they need to be in a home without cats.

Samson and Delilah are house trained, do well walking on the leash, and do well with recall (with treats!). They could use some basic training–they are very willing to learn; they just haven’t been taught. They ride well in the car and love running in the yard.

Samson (male) is a self-masked cream and Delilah (female) is a self-masked black who may have some silver in her coat when it grows back. Samson has a happy, outgoing personality. He is a cuddler and wants to be a lap dog. Delilah is sensitive and somewhat reserved, but she warms up quickly with a gentle, soft touch and manner. She loves to run and loves to be held.

They are spayed/neutered, current on their vaccinations, and have recently had blood work which is all normal.

Samson and Delilah are in Arizona. There is an adoption fee, and the new home must have a six foot fence.

Apollo is a lovely, sweet boy. He is black with cream markings. Apollo is about 1 and 1/2 years old, and up to date on all shots. He is underweight, but otherwise in good health.

His owner could not keep him because of work demands.

Apollo lives in Missouri, with his foster family.

The adoption fee is $500. A home visit is required for any potential adopters, and a six foot fence is required.
